Artie is our recommended Relevance AI alternative when you want to delegate ongoing work to an AI employee. Choose Dust for shared agents built around company knowledge, n8n for code and workflow control when you have a technical owner, or Make for processes maintained on a visual canvas.

Relevance AI already supports teams of agents, tools and multi-step processes. The reason to switch is a better fit for how your business wants to run the work, not simply the presence of an agent builder or a team feature.

Artie publishes this guide. We reviewed public product documentation in November 2026 and selected alternatives that cover connected business work through different operating models.

Choose how your team wants to manage the work

Relevance AI’s Workforce model connects specialist agents and tools on a visual canvas. Choose the product around the process your team can maintain, including its instructions, tool access and review rules. That makes it relevant to teams designing an agent system around their own process.

The decision behind an alternative search is often about ongoing ownership. A team may want tighter control over the steps, a different billing model or less involvement in assembling the system. Identify which of those would improve the work before migrating.

For example, a monthly customer-feedback process could have separate collection, analysis and review agents. That structure may be useful if an operations owner wants to tune each stage. A product lead who mainly wants a sourced digest ready for the next review may prefer to delegate the whole responsibility and review the result.

Artie for work organized around a role in your team

Artie is our pick when you want an AI employee to own a continuing business responsibility. You can collaborate through supported channels including Slack, email and WhatsApp, give him company context and connect the tools the job needs. He uses connected apps and his own computer and browser to get work done.

Shared company knowledge gives the AI employees you create relevant context within their granted access. Artie can carry work forward without waiting for a new prompt, with review instructions and access appropriate to the assignment. An instruction to seek approval is not an enforced permission boundary. See Artie’s security guidance.

Consider a customer-feedback analyst. The responsibility could include organizing support excerpts and survey comments, applying an approved taxonomy and keeping unresolved follow-ups visible for the product lead. The value is continuity across those activities, rather than another standalone summary of a feedback export.

Start with a clear brief: “Keep the monthly feedback digest ready for product review. Use our approved feedback exports and theme definitions, link each theme to its evidence and flag decisions for the product lead.” Name the finished output and where it belongs.

Artie’s Team plan is $100 per month for 10,000 shared credits, with no seat or AI-employee fees. Connected-app subscriptions may cost extra. Artie offers a free starting allowance with no credit card required. Compare observed usage rather than converting another vendor’s allowance into Artie credits.

Choose Artie when you want an ongoing owner for business work across apps, with the team using a supported communication channel. The use-case library offers starting points for research, coordination and operational responsibilities.

Dust for shared agents grounded in selected knowledge

Dust lets teams create and share agents connected to company knowledge and tools. It is a strong candidate when a business owner wants to define specialized agents and maintain their instructions, source choices and scope.

For feedback analysis, one agent might explain the approved theme definitions while another helps prepare a digest from the relevant evidence. The distinction should make the work easier to manage. Creating separate agents is useful only if colleagues can understand which one to use and why.

Dust's Business offering uses seat types with credit allowances. Plan for the people participating as well as the expected usage. Enterprise has a different commercial model, so keep the comparison tied to the plan you would actually buy.

Choose this approach when configuring reusable agents is part of how your team wants to work. Give each one a named owner who can update it when an internal policy changes.

n8n for explicit logic and a technical owner

n8n combines visual workflows, code and AI components, with cloud and self-hosted deployment options. It is useful when the process needs custom transformations, precise branching or control over the runtime environment.

A feedback workflow might validate ticket identifiers, deduplicate imported records and transform exports into a consistent format. The appeal is the ability to inspect and maintain those steps directly before asking AI to interpret the comments.

Paid plans use workflow-execution allowances. Self-hosting adds infrastructure and operational responsibilities, and external model usage may carry its own charges. The right comparison includes the person maintaining the process, not only the platform subscription.

Choose n8n when that control is important and someone can support it. If no one wants to own a workflow system, the flexibility may introduce a job you were trying to remove.

Make for a visible automation process

Make provides a visual environment for automations and AI agents. It can suit a team that wants the intake, branching and delivery steps visible in one process while using AI for parts that require interpretation.

For a feedback digest, the maintainer can separate collection, record validation and delivery to a review queue. When an export field changes, there is a defined place to update the process.

Make bills usage in credits consumed by actions, with different rules for some advanced features. Estimate production usage from a representative scenario, including branches and repeated attempts.

The tradeoff is maintenance of the process itself. Someone must keep the connections and logic current. A visual workflow is most useful when its owner understands the decisions represented by each branch.

Compare the billing model before moving

Relevance AI’s current public pricing page presents an Enterprise offer with custom Actions and Vendor Credits. Confirm the plan available to your account and request terms for the actual scope before budgeting.

For a fair comparison, record the same three inputs for each candidate: who will build or maintain the setup, who will use it, and how much work it will run. Then add any external model, hosting and support costs.

The billing unit is specific to the platform. An Action is not automatically equivalent to an n8n execution, a Make credit or an Artie credit. Use observed usage from the assignment you intend to run.

Test whether a backup owner can maintain the setup

Add a fictional feedback digest to the migration trial. Supply three rows: ticket T-101 for customer C-42, a duplicate of T-101 and ticket T-102 for C-42. The digest should count three rows, two unique tickets and one customer. Have a backup owner repeat the process from the maintained handover notes.

In the next export, the taxonomy owner renames a category and an export column changes from account_id to customer_id. Ask the maintainer to update the process, then have a backup owner repeat it using the handover record. Preserve the stable customer identity instead of treating the renamed field as a new customer.

Record which changes require editing a brief, configuring an agent, changing a workflow step or obtaining technical help. These are evaluation observations, not assumptions about what a nontechnical person can manage. Natural-language setup does not remove the need to understand a source field's meaning.

The handover should include the source definitions, connection owner, destination, validation rules, unresolved exceptions and a recovery path. Measure setup, repair and review time separately. If the original builder must intervene every time the schema changes, include that continuing dependency in the buying decision.

A product can be the right choice because your team wants to own that configuration. If the goal is to delegate the broader responsibility, compare whether Artie reduces the work left with the team in the same exercise. The accepted digest and maintenance record provide the evidence.

A migration brief that preserves the useful work

Here is a fictional feedback-analysis assignment you can adapt before moving platforms:

  • Responsibility: keep the monthly feedback digest ready for product review.

  • Approved sources: exported support excerpts, survey comments, the current taxonomy and the decision log.

  • Finished output: sourced themes, affected customer segments and open decisions.

  • Decision boundary: prepare analysis, without changing the roadmap or promising a resolution to customers.

  • Change to test: a theme category is renamed and a duplicate ticket appears in the next export.

  • Acceptable result: the revised digest uses the new category name, preserves links to the earlier evidence and flags the duplicate instead of counting it as another feedback item.

For example, three exported rows may contain only two unique tickets. The useful digest explains that distinction before discussing how often the theme appeared. Two tickets may still come from one customer, so count distinct customer IDs separately when estimating how many customers are affected. That keeps a changing source format from quietly changing the conclusion.

Save the current instructions, useful outputs and source choices. Reconnect the necessary accounts, compare a draft in the new setup, then retire the old schedule before enabling a replacement that writes to the same destination.

If Relevance AI already handles the process well, keep it until the alternative demonstrates a useful improvement. If you want the work organized around an AI employee your team can delegate to, start with Artie. Bring one responsibility and a clear example of finished work.
