Correct or remove a memory

Update a retained fact and distinguish forgetting from source deletion.

You can tell Artie when a retained fact is wrong or should no longer be used. Name the fact and its source so the change reaches the intended item rather than unrelated context.

Make the correction specific

Use the relevant private conversation or accessible memory entry. Explain which statement is wrong and what should replace it.

Example request

Correct the saved onboarding owner for Acme: it is Maya now, not Lee. Use the current onboarding tracker. Keep the historical handoff date as history.

State what should be removed

For forgetting, identify the fact or item and whether you mean only this saved memory. Removing a retained fact, deleting a source message and deleting a conversation are different operations.

Check the current state

Open the relevant Memory entry or ask what Artie now uses for that fact. Where a correction or undo control is offered, review the selected change before applying it. Do not assume every historical snapshot has a customer-facing restore option.

Handle broader deletion separately

A memory change does not delete the original file from its provider or make a backup-erasure promise. Use the source app for source deletion and contact support for a broader data request. Other people's private facts remain controlled by their actual ownership and access.
