Create a narrated video in chat
Ask Artie for a narrated, captioned MP4 in web chat or Slack, and get the finished video in the conversation where you requested it.
You can ask Artie to create a video in web chat or Slack. Describe what it should show and say, and Artie posts the finished MP4 in the same web conversation or Slack thread. You can include narration, captions, instrumental music and a closing title card, or ask for a silent clip.
Available in web chat and Slack.

Choose the format and gather references
Choose a video format and a target length of up to five minutes, including any closing card. If you want Artie to animate a product photo or another reference picture, attach it in the conversation before making the request.
- Vertical (9:16): for Reels, Shorts, TikTok and Stories.
- Wide (16:9): for YouTube, websites and presentations.
- Reference pictures: use PNG, JPEG or WebP files.
- Resolution: you can request 720p or 1080p. Otherwise, Artie uses the conversation's level.
Square video, talking people and lip-sync aren't supported. A person's appearance may change between shots, so consistent characters aren't guaranteed. Artie can start one video of each shape per reply. Ask for another of the same shape after the first is posted.
Ask for the video
Give Artie the purpose, audience and desired response. Include the details that matter to you; you don't need to write a shot list yourself.
- Open a web conversation with Artie or use a Slack conversation with Artie.
- Attach any reference pictures and identify which ones the video should use.
- Ask for a video with your chosen format and target duration. Describe the scenes, narration, captions, music and closing card you want.
- Narration: provide a script or ask Artie to write one. Describe the tone or kind of stock voice you prefer. Voice cloning isn't supported.
- Captions: say whether you want them.
- Music: describe the instrumental style, rhythm and mood, or ask for no music.
- Closing card: provide the exact headline and call to action. This is the title card at the end of the video.
- Silent clip: ask for no narration or music. You can also leave out captions and the closing card.
Create a roughly 30-second vertical launch video for a reusable travel mug, using the product photo I attached. Show it being packed for a morning commute. Write a warm, concise voiceover and include captions. Add light instrumental music that builds toward the finish. End with the headline “Ready for the everyday” and the call to action “Explore the collection.”
Videos are built from shots and cards, so the final planned length may be near your requested duration rather than exact. Ask Artie for the planned length if you need it. If narration runs longer than the video, Artie may shorten the script or fit the voice inside the video.
Wait for delivery in the same conversation
Artie's initial reply says the video has started. That reply isn't the finished video. Generation continues separately, and the MP4 is posted in the web conversation or uploaded into the Slack thread when it's ready.
The requesting conversation shows the step Artie is working on while the video is made. Check that conversation for the finished file.
If the video model wouldn't make a shot and it was left out, the delivery message identifies the missing moment. You can ask Artie to try that moment a different way.
Stop a video or retry a failed request
To stop generation, send “stop” in the requesting thread or use the Stop control. A stopped video isn't delivered, and you won't get a separate video failure message after the stop has already been answered.
If generation fails, Artie tells you in the requesting conversation. You can ask it to try again. If the message says a shot was refused, ask Artie to describe that shot differently.
If a reference picture can't be used, no video starts. Attach another PNG, JPEG or WebP picture, or ask Artie to make the shot without that picture.
