Talk to Artie in Slack channels and DMs

Choose the right audience and keep a job in its thread.

Use a DM for private work and a channel thread for work the channel should share. Artie can only use sources and actions available to the verified requester and the current audience.

Get the Artisan's attention

Mention the relevant Artisan in a channel it belongs to, or open its DM. Describe the job and continue the exchange in the same thread so follow-up answers remain attached to that work. An Artisan may respond when a conversation is clearly addressed to it; a mention is the clearest starting point.

Check the audience before sharing context

A channel answer is visible to that channel. Put private source material or personal-account work in a DM unless you intend to share it with everyone present. Slack Connect participants and guests do not gain employee authority just by being in the channel.

Use the original thread for changes

Reply there with corrections, decisions and a changed deadline. If you open the same work in the web app, follow its Slack link when the conversation directs you back to Slack. A message delivered to Slack is not proof that a person read it.

If the channel is private

A member of the private channel needs to invite the app or Artisan first. If Artie says it cannot read the channel, confirm membership and account access rather than reposting restricted messages into a wider channel.
