Attach reference files to a request
Upload the right material and verify that Artie could read it.
Attach a file when it is the source for a job. Uploading stores the input; sending attaches it to your request. Files from your private chat are private to you and are not automatically added to Memory or Skills.

Attach and send
Use the paperclip in the chat composer, choose the files and wait for the upload state. Write what you want Artie to do with them, then send. Follow the uploader's current format, count and size limits.
Choose an appropriate format
The document readers cover PDF, text, Markdown, CSV and DOCX, with other structured text and supported ZIP inputs. Spreadsheet and presentation reading can be available for an attachment without indexing it for later search. A scanned PDF can need OCR; accepting its bytes does not mean its pages were readable.
Explain the source and result
Name which version is current and the sections or rows that matter.
Example requestUse the attached September customer export. Group issues by product area, cite representative rows and return a CSV of the categories. Do not use last month's export.
Check processing before relying on it
Read any partial, unreadable or failed notice. Ask which portion was read if the document is large. When the original file is already saved, retry the failed processing stage instead of uploading another copy. Reference inputs are not automatically employee-created output artifacts. If you want lasting knowledge or a reusable method, ask Artie to save the appropriate memory or skill and choose its intended audience.
