Give Artie his first job

Artie starts with a responsibility your team wants to hand over. Add him to your Slack workspace, then describe the outcome you need and the sources he should use. An admin controls company access, and each owner controls their personal accounts.

Add Artie to your workspace

Start with the channel where your team already discusses the work you want to hand over.

  1. Add Artie to Slack.
  2. Have an admin connect the workspace and choose the channels Artie can access.
  3. Introduce the responsibility in the relevant channel.

Let him learn the context

Artie learns from the channels and connected sources he can access. He picks up company context in the background.

You can correct or update that context in ordinary language.

Choose a responsibility

Pick one of the jobs Artie proposes, or describe your own. Include:

  • The outcome you want.
  • The source of truth he should use.
  • Who the work is for and when it is needed.

For example: “Own the Monday revenue report. Use the finance sheet and lead with what changed.”

Review the first result

The first result establishes how the responsibility should run next time.

  1. Check the work against its sources.
  2. Explain what was useful.
  3. Give specific feedback on what should change.
