Control what Artie does in a Slack channel

Manage channel membership in Slack and stop the right work.

Channel membership controls where Artie can observe and contribute. Manage that membership in Slack itself; Artie's live Settings page does not provide channel watch or reply modes.

Invite the Artisan in Slack

Open the intended Slack channel and use Slack's app invitation controls to add the relevant Artisan or app. Confirm the member list before asking it to work with the channel's content.

Confirm actual membership

A private channel needs a member to invite Artie. Installing the app in the workspace does not grant access to every private channel. After an invitation, check that membership has settled.

Remove channel access deliberately

Use Slack's membership controls to remove Artie from a channel when it should no longer participate. Work relying on those messages may need another source. Removal does not undo messages already sent or automatically remove separately saved outputs.

Use the right kind of stop

Ask to stop a particular responsibility when only that job should end. Use Pause all work for a workspace-wide pause. Removing channel membership and cancelling a job solve different problems.
